FRACTIONAL CMO SERVICES

Marketing leadership that builds foundations and gives clarity

Fractional CMO Services - what you get working with me

This is not outsourced marketing support.

When I work with a business as a Fractional CMO, I take responsibility for marketing performance inside the company. I sit in leadership discussions, manage people, challenge assumptions, and make decisions about what should and should not be done.

You are not buying more activity. You are installing marketing leadership. What that means in practice:

  • Clear market positioning and messaging

  • A defined commercial marketing strategy

  • Prioritised execution plans (what to stop doing as much as what to start)

  • Alignment between sales, marketing and leadership

  • Management of internal team members and external suppliers

  • Removal of rushed, reactive campaigns

  • Performance reporting that leadership can actually use

  • Authority to veto activity that damages outcomes

Most businesses don’t fail because marketing isn’t happening. They fail because nobody owns whether it makes commercial sense. That becomes my job.

What does my Fractional CMO Service cost?

Engagements are structured as retained leadership, not hourly consulting.

Pricing and minimum term varies based on number of days requested, as more can be done with more time and complexity reduces.

With this there is no National Insurance contributions, no Pension Scheme, no benefit packages, no laptops, no tech, it is a purely the cost of the day.

This makes my fractional CMO service significantly cheaper that a full-time CMO, while I set about reducing wasted spend and misdirected effort across the marketing function.

My Approach as Your Fractional CMO

I don't start with channels, content or campaigns.

I start with the belief structure. I bring senior leaders and long-standing employees into a workshop and discover with you what the main drivers are around your business, what makes the team proud of working for the organisation and then develop a narrative that conects with people and showcases the way in which you act as a business. â€‹

I then work with you and your leadership to clearly define ICPs, what their pains and challenges are, and how can we solve them. This is the foundation of building out funnels, high-value content, and offers that get them to take action, build trust and start to do business with you.

I conduct internal audits to understand more about the delivery of your services/products. I then map them against what the ICPs expect, and decipher if this is lower than expectation or greater. This helps to inform a pricing strategy and even identifies opportunities for development or refinement.

I then thoroughly draft and build your marketing strategy. This is delivered as both a long-form 70+ page document, packed full of insights and approaches to marketing initiatives, and a high-level deck, to showcase to the team and bring them along. This will also bring about specific campaigns and content ideas. This is done with the marketing team, and showing them the process to be able to build their leadership skills, to understand strategic decision-making.

I then set out the technical layer to your marketing approach, suggest new tools or removal of tools to give you a foundation that allows you to succeed and not overpay or waste budget on unused software that cost you monthly subscriptions.

I then work with your teams (if you have them) and external agencies to start to deliver the strategy, and roll-out key inititives to start to build sales pipelines and build your brand.

My goal as working with you as fractional CMO is not short-term spikes. This is why I become part of your team, to veto issues and have authority over initiatives and performance. It if doesn't enhance the marketing strategy or costs too much then it won't run.

Most fractional CMO focus on delivering activity and tactics. I focus on building a system that works, and upskill your existing team to take the lead at the end of the term.
